It is very difficult to get a shy person to talk. It is even more difficult to get a shy person to talk on stage. It is almost impossible to get a shy person to talk, act, and be onstage in front of other people. But Richard Hatch manages to do this with seeming ease!

For two years, my daughters and now my mum have been coming to class and it has been transforming! My youngest daughter especially has been so painfully shy since she was a child that it is almost a physical wrench for her to even talk in public. She, and my mother, have been undergoing such a butterfly like transformation under Richard's gentle tutelage that I wish we could do this every week. A three hour drive is a minor barrier for this type of growth. Richard makes it worthwhile every time with his life and business acumen and a safe environment where the shyest wallflowers can bloom.

Going to Richard Hatch's acting class every Tuesday is the highlight of my week - it's a place I get to go to call my own, and share with like minded talented actors, we are a group, we are a team, and we all support each other. Richard knows know to cut through the bullshit and guide you to discover what it is that is blocking you from being the best you can! And this man is the kindest and most generous you will ever find! My review of Richard Hatch's August 1st seminar in Seattle, Washington:

Richard Hatch's gift is his ability to translate human experience with such a depth of understanding and clarity of communication that his seminar transcends a traditional acting class and explores insightful observations of human behavior, philosophy, and the commonality each person has with their own personal artistic journey.

During his seminar Richard demonstrates an extraordinary understanding of the mind/body relationship of self, leads exercises to help free yourself from repetitive mental blocks/unhealthy patterns, and provides insights on how to harness your attention to bring about an honest communication with yourself in order to prepare you for continued challenges in navigating complicated life and career choices.

Students attending this seminar will be challenged to take a honest look at themselves and their relationship to the very foundation of their goals and the effect it has on the attitudes they project in their personal and professional life. I would highly recommend his personal seminars to any acting student, organizational leader, business owner, administrator, educator, public servant, artist, public speaker, or anyone else who could benefit from Richard Hatch's unique and in-depth instruction.

I hope that Richard Hatch's future students enjoy the class! He's a great instructor.

I had an amazing opportunity to produce (and attend) an acting workshop given by Richard. Most everyone who attended contacted me afterward to inform me of how enjoyable and worthwhile the workshop was - and how much it had helped them on many different levels, not just for acting purposes alone. Richard cut through self-induced fear blockages that can keep us from fully experiencing, while being relaxed, during the "now" moments, including the all-important auditioning process. He worked with all attendees on an individual and thorough basis, while gently challenging us to not just "read the lines", but to put the proper emotion behind what you're saying. Much of what he taught was "eye-opening" for all. Richard is not only an excellent teacher, but an extraordinary actor as well - with many credits under his belt and a lot of acting experience to draw upon in order to share with others. He does so in a very down to earth way, while offering support for each. Yet he doesn't "coddle" - he encourages you to get out of your own way in order to achieve the highest level of standard possible. Whether you're an aspiring actor / actress or someone who has been in the industry for some time, you will get something (and much more) for your money by taking a Richard Hatch workshop. And if you're not interested in entering the acting profession, you will still obtain valuable knowledge and wisdom from taking Richard's workshop. It's a win-win scenario - you won't be disappointed. Highly recommended!

After attending Richard Hatch’s Acting Class for the first time while visiting LA, I put a post on my Facebook page that began like this: “It's 4am and I'm in my hotel room thinking that may have been the most amazing Tuesday of my life.” I was not exaggerating. Richard is a very intuitive person and he excels at not only recognizing your talents and abilities, but challenging you in a safe and caring environment. I am not an actor and had never performed on stage. He had me not only feeling comfortable in performing my first piece of material in class, but also gently led me through an improv session that brought about a level of vulnerability I rarely show. And it was beautiful. Richard teaches acting lessons through life lessons. His unique blend of insightful one-on-one attention and supportive group participation makes for a truly inspiring and uplifting learning experience. On returning home, I immediately wished I could go back and take his class again.

Sept 27th 2014, I attended the Sci-Con Science Fiction convention in Tampa. Being familiar with Richard Hatch’s role on Battlestar Galactica and Prelude to Axanar, I wanted to learn more about his talents and methods for reaching peak performance and remaining multi-dimensional. Richard was patient, and informative while providing guidance that can bring out the best of us on set. I look forward to my next leading role where I plan to imply some of his techniques to deliver a good performance.

For the first time in my life, I took an acting workshop. Why? I'm not an actress, not do I aspire to be one.I cannot express, fully, the impact this one workshop had on me.Richard Hatch, both impressed and inspired me. Not something many are able to do. I learned from him. That's something else I didn't expect to do.I was impressed with his knowledge and with his ability to get his message across, in language "I" understood. That in itself, is important. Will I use what I learned? certainly.I will use it in my daily life and my interaction with others. I still do not aspire to an acting career, not at my age.Would I take another workshop from Richard Hatch? given the opportunity, you bet.If "I" were considering a career in the acting field, Richard Hatch would be the person I would choose to guide me. That's "my" opinion, of course, and it's an honest one. Before you decide to dismiss me as a "star struck female", let me tell you this. I was never a big fan of his. He always performed well, made me believe he was the character he portrayed ~~ whether on the big OR little screen~~ that's all I ask of any actor/actress.I see now, that this man was very underrated and that he has so much to teach anyone willing to learn.

Richard Hatch is the ideal teacher. He's an experienced professional who loves both the art and craft of acting. He's also a warm and sensitive man with a profound ability to recognize you for who you are, both as an artist and a human being. He'll strengthen your strengths and note your weaknesses while giving you the insight to improve. I can't recommend him highly enough. Audit a class -- decide for yourself. I think you'll agree, and look forward to his class every single week while becoming the best at what you do.

Richard is an AMAZING teacher. Having spent a year at the prestigious Howard Fine school (His Foundation class is a must), I found Richard to teach similar content, but in a totally more hands on way. Richard shows you how to break through your barriers and access parts of you you didn't even know were there. I can't stress enough how amazing Richard is. And he is just the nicest, most caring, non-egotistical guy there is,

Richard is an excellent teacher that is very true to his craft. I have been working with Richard via Skype for a little over a month now and I am very impressed. He has excellent teaching and life skills. We are currently working on various aspects ofcommunication which includes communication for presentations. He is very supportive of his students and looks at each students individuality and strengths. If you have the opportunity to go to a workshop or an acting class that he is doing you should definitely go. You won't regret it. If these opportunities are too far away for you I would recommend doing sessions via Skype.

I love working with Richard. He was on Battlestar Galactica and I personally love Sci-Fi. It's great being instructed by someone who actually made it in Hollywood. I would definitely recommend this class!

While visiting Los Angeles on business, I was able to attend Mr. Hatch's weekly acting class on the recommendation of a friend, and it was a wonderful experience. His effective techniques to quickly set aside any hesitation or fear of performing were nothing short of amazing, and before I knew it I was able to project a wide range of emotions almost effortlessly while performing the workshop materials. In just one session, I've taken with me a boost of confidence and clarity for communicating to groups that will last a lifetime, and I anxiously await my next trip to see how his class can continue to elevate my performances to the next level. Thank you, Richard!

Richard Hatch is a man of many gifts, not the least of which is uncanny insight into an actor's true potential and how we get in our own way and block that potential. Richard is both very tough and very compassionate. In just six months of working together, Richard has coaxed performances out of me that I never would have dreamed possible. If you want to explore the depths of your talent and discover just how good you can be, put yourself in the hands of Richard Hatch. Your eyes will be opened.
