Todd Rohrbacher is definitely LA's best comedy coach. ACS is fun, inspiring and where everyone should be studying comedy. Improv and sketch isn't going to get you work in front of the camera!

I have learned some VERY helpful skills from taking class at this studio, including how to rock auditions and meetings. I walked into a meeting with an agent who kept throwing curve balls at me such as starting an improve exercise out of NOWHERE, and then asking me to prepare two very wordy pieces of text in five minutes to be performed on camera. If it hadn’t been for the fact that I practice this once a WEEK at ACS, I would have been floundering. Oh… and I signed with that agent immediately after the meeting. THANKS ACS!

Since beginning classes with Todd in February, I have become more confident in my technique and performances. I appreciate that we are encouraged to bring any questions about life in the industry and he not only gives guidance but the other students are generous in sharing their own experiences so we can all learn and be better informed actors. We get in front of the camera in every class and the experience of viewing our performances immediately following them allows us an opportunity to see what we’re doing with the performance fresh in our minds. It’s a great and supportive learning environment and a truly exciting place to grow.

I’ve studied with Todd Rohrbacher for over a year now, and in that year-plus I am in awe of how my confidence has grown in my abilities as an actor and the vast amount of industry knowledge I’ve gained. My comedic intuitiveness is being honed, which has greatly boosted my confidence, and I am grateful for the individual time he’s taken with me to discuss my progress, or the insight he’s given in finding an agent or manager. Todd is determined to make each student self-sufficient and responsible for their own actions in this new media-driven industry, and with the tools I’ve gained from the Actor’s Comedy Studio, I truly feel I am ready to face it. I am proud to be associated with ACS, where I’ve found nothing but supportive, driven, like-minded friends.

Todd Rohrbacher’s expert knowledge of comedy along with his passion for sharing his knowledge with actors is what makes him an exceptional teacher. The fact that he is an extraordinarily talented actor and consummate professional is icing on the cake and makes the experience of learning and working with him a benefit to actors in their off camera professional life as well. He is a rare teacher!

I have been with Actors Comedy Studio since August 2010. Since then, Todd Rohrbacher has helped me become a working actor. When I came to him I was looking for a good class to teach me comedy acting. Through his class I have learned comedy acting, how to break a script down and find the jokes, learned to play the jokes, cold reading, audition technique, improve, what’s current in the business of acting, how to stay current, able to net work, and have created jobs for myself. Todd was able to learn who I was and what I was able to bring to the scripts. He then pointed it out as it would happen so I would know what makes me funny and unique. If you want to be a working actor in comedy, honestly, there is only one place in LA you should be…..ACTORS COMEDY STUDIO

Todd's comedy class is the only acting class that has given me the technique and the confidence to pursue an acting career after years of absence from the industry. Todd understands both comedy and the "business" of show business.

LA. is a great place filled with opportunities, and chances for actors, but at the same time you could easily get lost in all of it. It has only been less than a month since I've started attending Todd's class at the Actors Comedy Studio and it has been a wake up call experience. I feel very focused and have a clear sense of direction of my future acting career. If you feel lost or you don't know where to start, this is the place to go!

I was fortunate to find Todd's class two years ago after I'd graduated from an acting conservatory and had a good foundation, but needed to hone my comedic skills, type, and knowledge of the business. Not only did I find a supportive, yet challenging teacher, but I also found a group of highly motivated actors that I have since collaborated with. Todd's classes are always a nurturing environment where you feel free to take chances. I'm excited about Actors Comedy Studio because it's truly a community and is at the forefront of all of the new media changes in the industry. Instead of trying to catch up to the changes, we're all carving our own paths.

I have not been at the ACS for very long, however, Todd’s class has dramatically helped my audition process. I have learned what goes in to making a comedy. It’s not easy! I have learned to analyze my character inside and out before an audition. Todd’s class has inspired me to go out and learn something new every day to own my craft as an actor. Watching myself onscreen (as if auditioning) has helped me immensely because I see the mistakes I create. I noticed that I seem very insecure on camera when taking notes and making adjustments. I now go into auditions with this in mind and appear confident and assertive when auditioning. Learning how to breakdown and analyze my character, and knowing how to audition, have helped get me callbacks!

I moved to Los Angeles one year and four months ago to pursue acting. Moving here can be a major job because of the many things involved, especially when your moving across the country. I knew I had to take classes, so I made my decision and went with it. I am so glad I did because I have now been taking classes with Todd for a year. He recently opened his own studio; he is a very conceptual person and I believe in him and his visions. He has a ton of experience in this business and is really concerned with his students. If you try hard, he will support you in many ways and if your dream is to be a successful actor, then you will need classes and trust me when I say that you need to be enrolled at ACS!

When I first came to Los Angeles, I soon realized that there are (literally) one million different acting teachers/studios in this great city. Overwhelming to say the least. So I started searching and was getting really frustrated trying to find a class perfect for me, a comedic actress. My search ended the day I found Todd Rohrbacher at Actors Comedy Studio. I have never met anyone who has a more perfect understanding of comedy than Todd. My confidence in my acting has improved drastically and I landed commercial and theatrical representation as a result of one of the Studio’s showcases! The Acting For Sitcoms class is what made me fall in love. But the studio also has outstanding teachers in almost every area of acting/writing/entertaining you could ask for. Offering so many necessary and diverse classes has really turned ACS into an amazing community of artists. And it doesn’t hurt to know a bunch of other talented people in this industry!! I’ve also found that students in this Studio are very motivated. I’ve never been around so many people who are constantly producing their own content. It’s very exciting and has motivated me to start filming my own webisode!

Whether it’s an audition or a cold reading, I have confidence. I feel prepared. Todd has given me several tools to quickly break down a script. It is such a relief to be prepared and look intelligent in the audition room. I can stop winging it now. I can’t thank him enough.

I came to Todd Rohrabacher a year and a half ago looking for my “funny”. As all performers know, comedy is one of the hardest things for an actor to tackle. “Comedy = Timing, pace and rhythm.” Basic essentials you can pull from any book at Sam French, but what does that really mean? And how can it be applied in an honest way? In studding with Todd he changed me from not booking sitcoms to booking, transformed me into a quick study for cold reads, and provided the tools as well as mentored me in self marketing! What teacher in Hollywood does that!? So if you are looking for a great learning environment, with amazing methods to help you organically connect to any conversation…and book jobs, with a teacher who’ll spend the time to really get to know you and help you reach your highest peak. Then I’d highly recommend the Actors Comedy Studio. Trust me, I bounced from 4 different “Well known” studios and none compare! Break a leg! And hope to see ya in class.

I’ve been studying with Todd for a while now but he recently opened his own studio… “The Actors Comedy Studio” and we do something new and exciting every class. He always thinks about what will be useful in our day to day lives and auditions and we will revolve a whole class around something he thinks we need to focus on. For example one class we focused on status in scenes… Who has the upper hand or the lower hand in the scene…we started out with a fun improve game with putting the characteristics of the status into our body… how the person would walk, hold themselves, talk etc. Then we brought “status” into our scenes. The next week I had a general meeting with the amazing casting director Mark Teschner of “General Hospital” and it was funny because we were talking for a while as actor to casting director and that dynamic and then he gave me a scene to perform that I hadn’t seen before. The interesting thing was that the “status” in the scene had switched and I was the character in the position of power and the casting director wanted something from me… so I immediately thought of what we did in class and it helped a lot. Todd has also prepared me for getting into Groundlings etc...If I ever stop taking his class for even 2 weeks…. my acting and my happiness in live declines. He is now looking for new and creative ways to help his students succeed besides just teaching them acting.Shannon Kingston

The Actors Comedy Studio is way ahead of the curve. Todd Rohrbacher not only provides his students with superb coaching in comedy acting technique but an invaluable wealth of knowledge in regards to the business, and the methods of marketing oneself in entertainment. He is an incredibly organized, commited and talented teacher/coach. His community of students is one of the most supportive, skilled and motivated industry groups in LA.

Todd Rohrbacher is quite simply the best teacher I've ever had...and ever seen teach. His ability to hone in on exactly what it is about YOU that makes you funny and then nurture that until it blooms is unmatched. Besides that, he himself is funny...which, I'm sure some of you know, is hard to find in some "comedy" teachers. You'll laugh more in his classes, all while learning, than you will at most comedy clubs. I can't recommend you get in class with him any higher.

A few months ago, I got a last minute audition for a very popular web series. The script wasn't available ahead of time, so I knew that I would have to work hard and fast on it once I got to the session. When I arrived, I sat down with the script and began breaking it down using the tools and processes that Todd had taught me at ACS. After about 4 minutes, the writer of the series came out of the room and said that they were ready for me. I remember thinking to myself that I felt confident with my understanding of the script, the character I was playing, the circumstances, what made the scene funny, and that I was as ready as I was going to be for a cold read. I went into the audition and they laughed- the writer, director and lead actor. More importnantly, I wasn't "acting" in the scene, I was really in it. The combination of having an incredibly strong acting foundation and the confidence to go with it was what got me the job. And that's what I realize is so great about Todd Rohrbacher and ACS- they build your foundation, craft and confidence. They want you to succeed. Their goal is to get you to a point where you don't need them anymore, because you're that good. How many acting teachers in Hollywood can you say that about? Having run the gambit of acting schools in LA, I can honestly say that ACS is the best program I have been to, and that they truly care about making their actors better and seeing them succeed big time. It's not just a school- it's a community. And no one can succeed without a supportive community behind them.

Todd Rohrbacher is an awesome coach. On top of being a proper professional with vast experience, he is quite Inspiring and supportive. One of the most favourite learning experiences in acting I have ever had, and I have studied with wonderful teachers. The Studio he created (ACS) is a good continuation of the work he's been doing. An awesome place to get educated, elevated, inspired and to better yourself. I love that classes are ongoing, so you can hop in at any time, and work in a very fun and very safe environment. One of the awesome perks is the "on camera" element - and you are not watching playback on a little TV, but on a wall-sized screen, using a projector. I find it tremendously useful, as it really shows you all you do in every little detail - important stuff. Most importantly though, Todd has a unique ability to see right through you and thus is able to fine-tune and help in a very personalized way, helping you find comedy in you and let it out in a most professional fashion. If you haven't yet - do yourself a favour and go see for yourself. You can always leave if you don't like it, but I doubt you will leave. Do it!

Todd’s class at ACS is more than just an acting class. It’s a real world acting class. He brings his years of comedy and casting into the classroom. It’s a class where I have learned what I’ve been doing right for years, and what may have been keeping me from getting the callback or going to producers. This is a class where I’ve learned something more than just comedy and acting technique, I’ve learned what it takes to make it in today’s acting world.

One of the best acting schools around! It's all about the actor navigating in the world of new media, self promotion and self production. I have finally found a community of actors and teachers who truly understand how the rules have changed and I am now working on creating and producing my own work! There have been countless times where I have taken class one week and the lesson in that class immediately helped me in my very next audition. Equal parts resourceful and inspirational. Thank you ACS!!!!
