Best choice I ever made. I can't say enough about act one. I'm a conservatory student, and I plan to continue taking classes after I graduate.

If your goal is to be a working actor in Chicago then this is the school for you. I was looking for a graduate level acting program and, based on my husband's experience in an actual university MFA program, this is more rigorous and well rounded. The teaching staff is made of working professionals who took a genuine interest in me and my craft. After a year's worth of 40 hour work weeks (all practical might I add, no papers to be written here) I can feel a HUGE difference in myself and I can see a difference in my fellow class mates. My experience with Act One Studio's has been an extremely pleasant one. I have taken the Meisner course here and must say it has helped me greatly! Although frightening at times, the class allows you to delve into your emotions in ways that you have hidden for years. This was fantastic for me as I am now able to explore text in a wider range. But if Meisner isn't for you, they offer a wide variety of other classes for all levels of actors

After getting my undergrad in Musical Theatre, I wanted some more in depth training in the field that I love. I took a couple of acting classes at Act One, and was encouraged by one of my teachers to audition for The Conservatory there. It was a very intense two year regimen that taught from movement and voice, to Meisner and improv. I may have gotten some great training during my undergrad, but everything that I learned at Act One is invaluable information. After I graduated from The Conservatory back in 2008 with a Professional Acting Certificate, I still hear from the heads of the school to see how my progress is coming along in the acting world.

As a current conservatory student, I am very pleased with the abundance of knowledge I'm soaking up! The instructors are amazing. They really care about your growth as an artist! I'd highly recommend the studio for anyone who is looking to take that next leap in their acting career or if you're just looking to try something different. Act One Studios has it all!!

This is the best place to take classes. The faculty is amazing. They genuinely want you to improve your art and nourish your talent. I highly recommend you take a class, or two!!!
